Multimedia audio controller

In device manager, other devices has a yellow question mark and under the
+ plus sign "multimedia audio controller"
Have tried motherboard cd, windows xp cd. Cannot find driver.
I assume it is the sound a97 on my motherboard? No idea realy :-((
The motherboard is ACPI intel 845.ver l1.36 with 2.4Ghz and 512 mg ram
Sound seems OK.
Tried the Intel and ACPI web site with no joy.
Any ideas please.
