I recently re-formatted my hardrive, and everything works perfectly but the
sound. I don't have the driver for the multimedia audio controller. The
sound is running off the motherboard. So my question is, since I don't have
the cd for the motherboard, how can I find out which driver I need, without
paying for the information, or is there a generic driver I can use?
Thanks

Go to your Mobo manufacturer's site, the sound driver or where you can get it
should be in the support driver download area. If it is a PCI sound card go
to that web site, the maker of the soundcard for driver support

Start, run, MSINFO32

See if there is any info in the Summary, otherwise you cold pop the
cover and look.
