Multimedia audio controller

Under Device Manager | Other devices, I have Multimedia audio controller with a
question mark +exclamation mark in front of it. Device Status says the drivers
for this device have not been installed. (Code 28)

Apparently WinXP (just installed) did not have a driver for this and I have no
idea where to find it. I don't even know what this device is or what CD the
driver might be on. Could it be a m/b built-in sound card?

The computer does not yet have a sound card installed--just the PC speaker
which works.

The m/b is an Elements V266B--about one to two years old. (Athlon 1800+)

Look at the back of the computer for audio outputs, and read the manual that came with your mainboard to see if it
does.

If you are using a soundcard and have not disabled the onboard sound then it
might show up with a yellow mark.
