Multilple footnotes, how do I get a comma?

T

Tom Duprex

Using Wword 2002:

I have a term in a document that has two footnotes associated with it.
Using Insert Reference/footnotes applies the footnote numbers to the
word but does not put a comma is there is more than one footnote. How
can I insert what I think is a superscript comma between the footnote
numbers?
TIA

You have to manually type in the separator (and superscript it too, if
necessary).

If you type between the footnote references, the comma should be superscript
by default. But current thinking is that it is better to combine two sources
into a single footnote (separated by a semicolon) than to have two footnotes
referenced in the same place.

I did the superscript comma; it worked out okay. Had to magnify the
page to 150% to see what I was doing. Inserted the comma then did font
- superscript.
