MultiFormat Chart - Bars & lines

How do I create in PP, a bar chart with a second axis with a line chart
overlayed on top of the bar chart? I can do in Excel, and paste it in, but
my client is looking for everything to be just in basic powerpoint.

if this can't be done, are there plugins available that allow this?

When you to Insert, Chart - there is no option to do this...

Any other ideas?

Yes, there is a bar + line chart, same as there is in Excel.

Or you can right-click the desired series and choose "change chart type" and
choose Line Chart. That will change just the series to a line. Same as
Excel.

Then you'd right-click the line and choose Format Axis and put it on a
secondary axis.

How do you create this type of chart in Excel?

Also, which version of PPT are you using?

A bar chart with horizontal bars? And vertical lines combined with it? That
cannot be done in PowerPoint 2003. You'll get the error message that some
types of charts cannot be combined. You have to do it in Excel and copy it
over. Or use Office 2007, where it can be done in PowerPoint, too, because
PowerPoint opens a real Excel spreadsheet instead of MS Graph.

If you understand German - I've just finished a tutorial on "Semantic
Differentials".

Best regards,
Ute

I found it, after much looking... The older version was much easier to find
out how to do this.

Thanks for your help, worked great!

Sorry, didn't know which version you were using, so I couldn't give you
specifics. Glad you got it figured out.
