Multi Columns

I want to have a news article written in 2 cols with teh following
format



THIS IS A VERY LONG HEADLINE NEWS ARTICLE

Col1 paragraph line 1 Col2 paragraph Line 2
Col1 paragraph line2 Col2 paragraph line 2



When I click on cols toolbar menu even the headline is split. I want
the headline as normal 1 col format and the subsequent lines in 2 col
paras.

How do I do this ?
