MSWorks Suite 2003 vs MSWorks Suite 2006-can't transfer documents

I have just purchased a new computer, Windows XP Pro, SP2 installed.
My older computer was Windows XP Pro, SP1. The new one has MSWorks Suite
2006, preinstalled.
The old machine had MSWorks Suite 2003, preinstalled. I transferred all 'My
Documents' from the older machine to the new computer.
BUT, whenever I try to open a data base file, I receive the following
message:"There was a serious error loading the data. Your document appears to
be damaged.Works will stop loading the document with what has been read so
far. Please try loading a recent backup copy of this document".That did not
work--same error message. What can I do?Kimjor

You might get better help if you post to a Works group. In the meantime
maybe this is the problem:

Error message when you try to open a Works database file in Works 8.0:
"There was a serious error loading the data"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914347/EN-US/

I hope you don't have many of these files because the fix is a real dilly!
