MSWMM

I have made a movie using old 8MM from the sixties with Windows Movie Maker.
I have it in two parts, both are MSWMM and they won't play, on anything but the Windows Media Player. I can burn them on a DVD but it doesn't play on anything including the computer I made it with.
First, I would like to find the person that made this damned file, that won't play on anything, and tell them what a low life piece of human crap they are.
Secondly, I hope someone on here has found a way to change the file to something that will work on normal machines and tell me how it's done.
I can't even get the files back into the Windows Movie Maker.
I have bought Roxio and Sonic and have the Record Now. None of these will work on this type file MSWMM.

Hello there,

To create a movie from your project click on FILE > SAVE MOVIE

Further help can be found in the Help File by clicking on Search and typing the
one word Movie

Try

File > Save Movie

This gets you a WMV or AVI video file.

You are only saving the Project (Movie Maker) file by doing File > Save.

I tried the below suggestion, yet the save movie creates a file that is not recognized by ULEAD movie maker, which is my tool to burn a DVD (I also tried NERO DVD, and it does not recognize the format either). Any other suggestions? This format looks to eclusively for Microsoft playback, which defeats the purpose of making a video to share....

Hello there,

I'm having the same problem with the MSWMM format, I tried what was suggested
below, but the format is not reconized by other software (ULEADmovie factory)
or NERO, as I want to burn to a DVD either an avi, or mpeg. Any other ideas,
Microsoft did not make this easy and intuitive.

MSWMM is not a video format. It is the project description. To create a video
(standalone) Click FILE > SAVE MOVIE FILE and work through the wizard. Further
help on this can be found by entering the word MOVIE in the search section of
Movie Makers Help File.
