Windows XP msn messenger and live communication server 2003

I have Live Communication Server installed in my test domain. It is showing running fine. All green arrows. When I try to connect from the Office Communication client 2005 I am denied because of incompatibility. The MSN Messenger Client does not have the option under accounts to use the communication server it only has the option for .Net. What am I missing. I have ran prep schema and prep domain. Still no joy.
