MSN Antispyware flagging Msg Plus!

R

Robert Pendell

Why is it flagging the application. Shouldn't it be flagging the
spyware (C2Media) that the author has gone through great lenghts to
minimize the number of accidental installs of?

Anyways for uninstall instructions here is the link on the authors
homepage for those that have the most recent versions that support MSN
Messenger 7 since you can now uninstall the spyware seperate from the
application.

Note that he recommends NOT using Microsoft Antispyware to remove the
spyware but rather the spyware uninstaller. I follow those
recommendations too as that is the first thing I do when cleaning my own
system. I use the spyware's own uninstaller to remove it before
resorting to cleaning utilities.

reading the EULA before installing it would help
instead of clicking OK all the way

IIRC, in the setup , user can choose not to install the spyware

Hi Robert,
There's a piece in Msgr Plus that comes up as spyware. It's similar to
WxBug, in that you gotta agree to it and click that deadly EULA before it
fires off.

Ron,
