I don't chat or anything similar. I'd like to not have msmsg.exe running
but if I end the process, it seems to come back again.

Thanx,
Bob

You have posted different .exe names for the process, the one in the
subject line refers to MSN Messenger but the one in the body refers to a
virus. I take it it's just a typo.

I guess no one would want msmsg.exe running...

"msmsg.exe is a process which is registered as the Backdoor.Prorat.10b3
Trojan. This Trojan allows attackers to access your computer, stealing
passwords and personal data. It is a registered security risk and should
be removed immediately."

As for MSMSGS.exe (MSN Messenger) go in the Control Panel Add/Remove
Programs and uninstall it.

John

PS. MSMSGS.exe could also be a virus, but don't panic for nothing, you
probably don't have a virus, just for your information.
