MSKSrvr.exe ???

I've just bought a new computer and it had mcafee security center installed
on it for 90 days or something...however, all of the sudden (only had the
computer 3 days now) it seems a bit slower and I can 'hear' something
running int he background - when I opened task manager - I see that
MSKSrvr.exe (which is Mcafee spam killer I think) is using about 50% of my
CPU .... this is a hog - I've also got AntiVir guard running, Attune and
have hijackthis and spybot search and destroy on - can I safely get rid of
Mcafee or is it 'that' good??

thanks
Pam

Hi Pam,
If you want to keep McAfee, I think you wouldn't installed Anti-Virus Guard.
If you will pay the Subscription fee to McAfee then Keep it,but from this
Error or Huge Usage of CPU I guess the SpamKiller is Corrupt and need
reinstall.
You are one of many people out there suffer because they got a computer
Loaded with Software Bundle installed the Mfr of the Compy, best is if you
will not pay the Subscrition fee get a free AV like AVG, Avast for home user,
and a firewall like ZoneAlarm they will do the job nicely for you.
HTH.
Please let us know.

No I don't want McAfee - its a computer hog - and I did a search and
couldn't believe all the people that had the same problem! And of course
Mcafee doesn't make it easy to uninstall it! I'm hoping I got it all - I
booted up in safe mode - then when to control panel and deleted it - then
did a search on my computer and deleted all the folders and references - it
didn't show anything on the registry - so not sure how to find out if its
still in there ... but then rebooted normally and it's not showing on my
task bar... thanks for the recommendations - I have used AVG before - may
put that back on - someone else in here said Antivir guard was better than
AVG (said AVG gave lots of false positives). will check out Avast - had ZA
also but after a while I always end up with localhost problems when
installing ZA...

thanks
Pam
