MSIE Missing on XP Pro computer

My neighbor brought me her Dell Inspiron Model 8600 laptop running XP Pro
with SP2 installed, but MSIE has been removed---she believes she did this
inadvertently. Outlook Express is still working.

How do I reinstall the appropriate MSIE 6 version?

Thanks

Right-click on a blank spot on the desktop and select Properties. Choose the
Desktop tab and click on the Customize Desktop button. Place a checkmark in
Internet Explorer and click on OK.

Thanks for your help, but that did not work.

I believe MSIE is no longer on the computer, If I go to C:\program
files\internet explorer and double click on the iexplorer file nothing
comes up. I get only a very brief busy signal.

Next step?

Next effort: go Start>Control Panel. Is there an icon Internet Settings? Can
you open it with dubble click? And can you check the settings and look they
to be okay? Special attention for the Connections tab. If this wont work,
did your neighbour gave you the Windows installation CD, or a Recovery CD?
She should have and then you could run a Repair or an Update on Windows.
Hans.
