MSI K7T266 Pro (MS-6380) + Windows xp = Blue Screen

Hello NG,



1.

I have a MSI K7T266 Pro (MS-6380) mainboard with a Promise Fasttrak 100 RAID
(0) controller (bootable) and Windows XP. Normally the system works fine but
sometimes when I start Windows there occurs an fatal error called STOP:
0x000000A5 (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4). So I looked on
Microsoft Knowledge Base 314830 "Stop 0x000000A5" Error When You Are
Installing Windows XP. This article describes the Error while installing
Windows but the Error occurs while booting Windows. Now I installed the
latest drivers for the mainboard (including BIOS-update) but this also did
not help.



What can I do to remove this nasty Blue Screen?

I have installed the new Windows 2003 on the bootable Fasttrak 100 RAID (0)
without any problems. After starting Windows fist time there occurs a Blue
Screen und the system was shutdown immediately. I think it's because of the
RAID howbeit I've installed the latest driver while setup. The error also
occurs when running in Safe-Mode.



How can I turn off the automatically shutdown after a Blue Screen occurs?

What can I do to avoid the error?

it mentions your bios and not being truly acpi compliant and some work arounds
