MSDOS Popups @ StartUp

I have already consulted a Windows XP expert on this problem. He agrees that
this is not an indication of a virus or any form of file corruption. He
feels that these PopUps are an indication of missing operating system files.
Your help would be appreciated to rid myself of these MSDOS popups. Thank
you.

Hi grpsy:

What exactly do "these pop-ups" say? That information is key to getting
an accurate response.

What is the message within these popup?
They certainly aren't MSDOS ones because there is no MSDOS in XP; the only
part of XP that is the least bit like MSDOS is the cmd program which
provides a command line interface to XP.
