I'm using XP Pro, and cable modem for internet connection. Something uses my
connection and uploads bytes and this speeds down my connection. All the
updates have been done and entire HDD checked for the viruses. Under the
startup menu of msconfig, i unchecked all the boxes [nvcpl(first), avgcc32,
ccapp, ccregvfy, ctfmon, msmsgs, nerocheck, nvcpl (second), nvmctray, nwiz,
soundman, timeupdate] and restarted the PC. It works like this, but when when
i choose the normal startup the problem begins again. Anybody knows how i can
get out of this ? Thanks.

Thank you very much for your attention.
Deleting timeupdate.exe from the registry solved the problem, now it seems
there is no problem in using the other programs, but do you know what this
timeupdate.exe is for ?

Have you tried shutting them down one at a time?

ccapp is for norton anti-virus,avgcc32 is for AVG anti-virus are you
running two A/V software at the same time? If not check here:

Even the newer anti-virus programs make for a poor spyware scanner, have you
used any of these? if not try them out.
