I'm trying to remove a bunch of parasite software from my computer.
I found quite a few of them using msconfig looking under "Startup". I
unchecked them.
After rebooting, I found that none of the parasite software had
preloaded as it had before. (I figured this out by running Adaware,
which no longer found any programs.)
But when rebooting, I got the message that selective startup is being
used. The message gives a few options, which include:
1. Don't use selective startup and don't display this message.
2. Go to the general tab under msconfig and select normal startup, no
longer using selective startup.
3. Continue using selective startup.
I don't want this message to appear every time, but I don't want to
select those programs to be preloaded either.
I've gone to the "Add/Remove Programs" function in control panel, and
cannot find which programs they are (if indeed they're listed there at
all).
So, how do I get rid of these parasitic preloaded programs without
using selective startup?
Thanks.
