msconfig doesn't run

msconfig doesn't exist in the right folder. I found it in
a different folder and tried to run it. It opened
the 'System Configuration utility' window for a split of a
second and then it disappeared.
I need this utility.
What can I do ? Do I have to download msconfig ? Where
from ?
thanks in advance

Msconfig - Corrupt

To extract: Open a command prompt window. Insert your XP CD into the drive and enter the following command:

EXPAND -R D:\I386\MSCONFIG.EX_ C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\BINARIES. This will extract a new copy of the MSCONFIG.EXE from the CD.
To open the command prompt: Start/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt

MSConfig.exe *ought* to be at
C:\Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\MSConfig.exe

Make sure you have a copy there - copy the one you found.

Opening for a moment and vanishing may be a sign of a virus infection -
make sure you do scans of viruses and adware
