I want to use the same ZIP disks that I used with my
previous computer which was running W98 where I used
MSBackup to create the Zip disks. I want to use the same
disks on my new computer which is running XP. I need the
software to install the MSBackup on the XP OS and want to
be sure it is compatible with XP. Where can I get the
software and how do I install it? I have purchased an
external Zip Drive for the purpose of backup on the new
computer.

You may have success restoring Win 9X backups (.qic files)
with Stomp BackupMYPC (formerly Veritas Backup Exec),

Insert the XP or Rescue CD, and run NTBACKUP.MSI
program

from the folder D:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP

You can get a copy here:

In XP Home the ASR Floppy Disk does not work . It will
NOT backup to a CD. You can back up to a folder on your
hard drive then burn it to a CD. The native program in
XP will not span CD's though.

Here is how to use it;

Windows Backup Does Not Back Up to CD-R, CD-RW, or DVD-R

You can trick it with a packet writing program like Roxio
Direct CD & Drag and Drop (comes with Easy CD Creator )
Or Nero InCD or Sonic DLA You then use a CD ( will not
Span cd's) or DVD's (4.7+ gb) to back up to though.
