MSAS GIANTspyware main wont run.

When trying to run MSAS, small window pops up like normal
which says loading Microsoft antispyware. Then it just
disappears with no errors. I watched applications in task
manager which also shows the program starting up then it
just disappears. The realtime protection win patrol
windows still works. I am unable to change settings or
run scans because I cant get the Main console to start. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. I have
even turned off the firewall and change IE settings to
see if it could have been a conflict. I run XP Home SP2.
Any knowledge of this matter would greatly be
appreciated.

Hi, I am having exactly the same problem (OS Win prof
2000). I then installed MSAS on my laptop (OS = XP) where
it worked and on my home computer (OS = Win Prof 2000)
where it works as well. So why does it not work on the
first computer?

Exactly, it has ran on every other computer I have put it
on. I think it might be a conflict with another program
or a certain piece of spyware. It will still run its
scheduled scan at 2am, but that relly doesnt help since I
cant remove or quarentine them with out the main console.

Danker, I networked my buddys computer with mine and was
able to execute the main console on his from my C drive.
This tells me that it is definately a conflict with
another component on my PC. Since it was able to run on
his from my drive means that it is intact and
operational. If you have any Ideas, let me know. Maybe we
can even compare installed software to find a conflict.
Meantime I going to make sure that my windows is
completely up to date. I need to try and resolve this
issue because it keeps telling me that I have 11 items
that need cleaning everytime the autoscan runs. Ad-aware
and spybot were not able to find them. Unfortunately Im
not able to even find out what they are.
