My new PC with XP came preloaded with a trial version of
WordPerfect. When I create a word document in Works, save
it, and try to reopen, message states that the program
that created the file cannot be found and I have to
manually open in Works. I have uninstalled WordPerfect
but I still have the problem. I'm trying to send my
resume as an attachment but the repipient can't open.

since you are creating resumes...your goin' need a real word processor SOON
anyway...just get MS Word now....and avoid all this aggravation.....trial
this...trial that.....come on...

Hey that was a very thorough and insightful answer Jack! Thanks for helping
solve that issue!

Are you saying that you saved a Works file as a Word doc and the email
recipient can't open it or YOU can't open it?

Have you tried saving the file as a Rich Text File (rtf)? This is a common
format that most word processors can read.

Human resouce personell all use word to view resumes. Better get word,
and create your resume with word if job hunting.
