I'm running XP pro...when I open word i get a window stating "changes have
been made that affect the hlobal template, normal, do you want to save those
changes?"
The options are..yes\no\cancel....if you pick yes or no,,word shuts
down.....I tried to fix this by going to : options \save- tab snd I uncheck
the "prompt to save normal template box..after which word won't open at
all.......any suggestions?

Try deleting the normal.dot file. It will be recreated. Other than
that try the MS word newsgroups.
