MS Word and Bolding

I Have a machine at work that has MS word 2002 sp2 install
on it, and every time the user bolds a word or sentence it
will bold the entire document. A simple undo will remove
all the formating except what is highlighted. I went out
and bought word 2003 thinking this might fix the problem
but it has not.

the same thing happen when you underline also.

any help would be great...
