MS windows XP Home Ed very slow

We've setup 3 id's for the family. Switching from one
user to next user is extremely slow setting up 2nd user's
windows setup.
Does it seem like install needs to be redone?

No. When you use Fast User Switching, all of the user's programs that are
loaded and running are retained by the operating system, even though that
user's account is switched to the background. Running multiple accounts at
the same time adds a demand for memory, processor speed in order to see the
same performance as when only one user is logged on.
