I installed XP. I setup my name as user. I installed all of the updates. Now
it has changed my name to "owner", and in fact under documents and settings
it has "owner" as the only user directory. HTH did this happen? Is it
possible to change this back to my name?

.
Change your computer name,Right click on my computer and
select properties, click on tab that says computer name,
put in whatever you want to.

How do I change the directory name under "documents and settings"? It has
"owner" instead of my name. I have absolutely no idea where this came from,
the last time I installed XP it created my user directory with my name, not
"owner". I don't want to add another user account, I want to get rid of
"owner" and have my name there instead as the only user account. I tried
changing all references in the registry, but this did not work, and I had to
use system restore to fix the mess I made doing that.

So, WTH did this "owner" come from, and is it possible to change it to
something else, or do I need to deleteXP and reinstall to get it to use my
name as the user directory?

PS - I'm guessing that during the install, XP somehow picked up "owner"
instead of my name - maybe a dialog I ignored, so this is quite likely my
own fault. Since I just installed it last night, I think I'll wipe it and
start over since at this time I don't have a lot of time invested in the
installation.
