mac browses. First I heard I was using a mac.???

What to do?

What site? Your on the wrong page because there is no SP3 for xp.
XP only has SP1 available for download and install. SP2 is in beta testing.
There is no SP3.
Always get your windows updates from www.windowsupdate.com

MAC..........media access control
Enabling MAC you can prevent certain mac addresses from accessing a network or
allow access only from certain PCs with specific mac addresses
Do you have/are on a network??

I know SP2 is available for beta testing but where did you find XP
SP3???????????

Boy you are confused.

There's no SP3 for XP.

Maybe you really are using a Mac and just don't know it.

OK,so I'm confused. But I'm not the only one. The only response I
get from
www.windowsupdate.com is 'done' That's "DONE" No downloads, no
updates -
nothing. Any suggestions?

Here's a link to the Windows Update troubleshooter:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

Kelly also has information about troubleshooting Windows Update on her
excellent site, here:

Look at the 9th item down under the Top Ten FAQ's.

There is *NO* SP3 for Windows XP so do not be confused about that, ok?

Now, exactly WHAT are you trying to do, this time with some details, please.

No matter how 'new' someone is to computers, the owner will *not* be so
confused about knowing if they own a Mac or not. It was deserved.
