MS Spyware alert windows "Fly By"

Bob

I'm running the beta of MS spyware, but when the software
tries to alert me of activity, the alert windows "fly by."

They start at the bottom of the screen and move
vertically and don't stop. They fly off the screen so I
can't read what they say, or acknowledge any actions
(Yes, No, Okay, Cancel, etc.)

Is this a known issue at this time?
I'm on XP-SP2. No crazy configurations or apps are
installed.

I do place my taskbar on the left side of the screen,
which may or may not be important. If the software is
looking for the taskbar as a horizontal point of
reference, my placement would interefere with it (since
its vertical). Just an idea...

Any thoughts?

I've just found the same problem, I use the right hand side, if you move
it back to the bottom the alerts work just fine, I hope this is a problem
they fix soon.

This bug is seen with vertical taskbars, but not with horizontal ones. It's
been around since the beginning of the beta. I'd like to see it gone,
myself!

just a guy

TRY THIS...
ON THE XP SCREEN RIGHT CLICK ... PROPERTY ... SETTING...
and then try to change the SCREEN RESOLUTION from less to
more....
For instance you may have 800 x 600 pixels ... try to
change that to 1024 x 768 pixels.
I think that may be your problem.

IF not ... then good luck

I have read that this is a bug caused by having your task
bar in a non-standard location. Try moving your task bar
to the bottom of the screen and accessing a script or
application that triggers a warning and see if the alert
stays in place.
