ms patentproblem jet engine

hi can anyone tell me more about the removing of the jet enginge fro
office xp and 2003. All i have heard so far is thar microsoft has a
patent issue with som spanish guy about the jet enginge which is neede
for dataexchange between excel and access.
After updating my applications wont work anymore because the removal o
the oledb jet engine.
