Is there such a thing an MS Outlook Alternative that can
access/subscribe to IMAP folders?

I second that, however it will only get mail and nothing else. We use
MDaemon mail server at work which is essentially an Exchange replacement
with calendars and contacts. But those are not available through
Thunderbird.

So my Thunderbird folders include:
- My ISP's POP3 e-mail
- E-mail at work, IMAP
- Newsgroups (which I'm using now)

Well, that isn't *quite* true - it can pick up newsgroups and RSS feeds too.

In Thunderbird's defense, they aren't shared with the server by Outlook
either, so Thunderbird is operating the same as Outlook in this respect.
