MS Outlook 2003 mailing problem

When I try to send mail I get an immediate response that "some recipients
may not receive the mail" and error 571 cannot send mail without
authentication" (not exact quotes).

I go to "tools>accounts>change account", and go through the motions without
changing anything (info seems correct). Then when I resend the mail it goes
through and I have no further problems for that session.

However, when I start up the PC and Outlook the next time, the problem is
back. It's a nuisance having to reset the account everytime before each
mailing session.

Why won't Outlook recognise and remember the settings?

You are in the wrong place. Ask in a group that has the word OUTLOOK
in the title.

Actually, I suspect the issue lies with a corrurupted profile and
changes not being saved. Suggest Doug tries it with a different account.
