MS Outlook 2000 OLE registration

Dell Computer Corporation XPST600
Windows 98 SE (build 4.10.2222)
600 megahertz Intel Pentium III
128 Megabytes Installed Memory
20.41 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
4.62 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

I was making some room on my hard drive and I must have goofed something up.

With Outlook started, I tried to send/receive mail and got a DLL error
(sorry, I didn't write down the specifics). I tried it a couple times,
rebooted tried it agin, still the same.

So I put in disk 1 of my Microsoft Office 2000 installation disk and chose
the option to repair errors. Now Office will not run at all -- I get this
error message, "An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not
properly installed. Run setup again for the program."

I considered doing a re-install from the CD but I'm concerned about losing
my data (address book, contacts, email, calendar appointments, etc.).

What should I do?

Thank you for your help.

No, that doesn't sound like my issue. That soulution applies only "if you
have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option."

You shouldn't lose any data, but to be safe, locate your PST ans make a copy
of it in another folder. Then, if something happens to your current PST,
you'll have all your data in the copy.
