MS Optical Mouse Blue

Hi,

Don't know if this is the correct place to post, but will give it a try.

Using WinXP Pro SP2 and MS IntelliPoint Optical Mouse Blue (USB).
I will set the mouse speed two ticks faster and click ok. It works fine,
until I log off and log on again, then the mouse speed goes back to the
default setting. What do I need to do to make the speed setting stick?

I was using the optical mouse v4.1 which has the problem mentioned, so I
just updated to the newest version 6.2. The problem has been carried over to
the newer version as well, not retaining the speed setting after logging
off.

Thanks in advance.

One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include
but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee
VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Here's something else about NAV (and KAV/KIS) that you may not be aware of:

Thanks, I had a Logitech Mouse and when it died, I changed it to a MS Mouse.
Logitech didn't get 100% uninstalled, a few commands left in the registry
and files on the drive. I got rid of those.

Before I did the above I also uninstalled the MS 6.2 mouse driver and went
with the default one.

This cured the issue, and it also fixed another problem that I had with
AutoPlay, that works like it should now. I will go with this setup for a
few days then will install the MS 6.2 Driver to see what happens.
