MS Office 2003: autocorrect or autotext addtions returns wacky .

MS Office/Word 2003, installed as trial pack on HP Pavilion computer [build
march/april 04]. Succesfully fully licensed. Whenver I add a new autotext
or autocorrect entry, from the typing screen or go to the autocorrect window,
a wacky pop-up window appears with a string of squares and a few foreign
alphabet characters thrown in. There is an "OK" button as well. Clicking
the button removes the window, and the text is succesfully added. No other
effect, as of yet.

Oh, yeah: system and Word language both set to English (US)

Would prefer to not have this pop up every time I use this feature. Found
nothing on this in the knowledge base....
thanks,

Hi =?Utf-8?B?dG9tIHN3aWZ0IGluIHBpdHRzYnVyZ2ggYXJlYQ==?=,

New one on me... If you go into START/Programs, locate the Office set of
entries, under that you should find a tool for Languages (if it was installed).
Which languages are listed as activated?

Also, have you installed any Windows IME stuff while testing?
