[How to restore MS network's File/Dir share service]

I got virus on my XP so, to fix the problem, I have dropped all network
services on the XP. Then, after I removed the related virus files, the
machine's File/Dir share system didn't get back the full fuction, I mean
it's possible to look and get the other LAN machine's shared files/Dirs but
can't show/offer the XP's own.

Does anybody let me know which services I have to start/run to restore the
full function?

Thanks, regard,

M.M.

Frequently, when you remove malware and network functionality mysteriously stops
working, you should check the LSP / Winsock / TCP/IP stack.

Sharing files requires the Server service.

I had restored this service however it's never got back!
Anymore I have to do?

Thanks,

I have run this software yet nothing has changed.

Did you try all of the tools listed? Not one of those tools has been found to
be useful in every case of corruption; that's why we have multiple tools.

If you have, let's diagnose the problem. Look at "browstat status", "ipconfig
/all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from the problem
computer, and from at least one other computer. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

It also may be useful to have details about all computers, and network hardware,
involved.
