MS .Net Framework 1.1

Hi all,

I am having problem updating .net framework 1.1 . Windows update will not
install the update KB886903. Uninstalled .Net through add/remove programs
and then ran windows update but .net framework was not available and instead
the update was available, so went back and deleted all .net framework from
the registry and ran windows update again but i got the same result.

downloaded both .net and update for it and installed .net then tried to
install the update but i got the message below:

Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
"Info 9006.This patch cannot be installed because it requires Microsoft .Net
Framework 1.1 SP1. No Microsoft framework 1.1 SP can be detected on this
computer."

but .Net is available on add/remove programs and windows clean up utilty.
So i really don't know what else I can do. any help will be appreciated.

Make sure you specifically download Framework 1.1 SP1 and install it.
