MS-DOS Compatibility

Don't forget that DOSBox 0.70 (32-bit) runs perfectly fine on Vista x64. If
you have any old MS-DOS games that you want to play again, this is the
answer to all the problems that ever were. I have been playing Carmageddon,
Ultima 6, Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, and Daggerfall all at 60fps+ with full sound
and using my Windows controllers. DOSBox is the win, for sure.

Agree, I pull out old DOS games all the time with DOSBox. Great stuff. I
also dig running DOS 6.22 under Virtual PC 2007, only problem here is the
soundcard support isn't as stellar, BUT it works, it's free, and it runs
Syndicate Wars, which I couldn't get running under DOSBox for some reason
(though I haven't tried v0.70 yet).

I have old 16 bit games designed for MS-DOS 3.3 that I wanted to play. I
installed the games, but I receive error messages in Windows Vista (as well
as the Vista command prompt) saying that 16 bit MS-DOS cannot run in full
screen. Since this game does not have an uninstall option, I del *.* in the
folder that the game was created in and rd at the C:\> prompt. How do I make
games created before Windows 95 work in Vista? I run Vista Ultimate on a
brand new HP Pavilion system.

I can run my legacy programs but now, with Vista, I have the same problem
with QBasic as I had with GWBasic when I went to XP. I cannot get more than
the top half of the screen to fill. It is a pain to have only about 4 lines
showing!
