Win XP SP2, vaio pIII machine, recently bought MS optical desktop Elite for
Bluetooth, simply plugged-in the blu tooth dongle and saw the msg new
hardware found and installed. Detected both Keyboard with passkey and mouse
with no passkey with msgs saying your new hardware is connecteed and ready to
use. Key board is working fine but for some reason the mouse is not working
ctrlpanel->bluetooth device panel shows both (mouse & kbd connected) tried
all the knowledgebase article none helped. Called MS help and so far spent
2hrs on phone with them no result.
The guy suggested to try it on different computer, worked on Win2k machine
with the intellitype pro software came with the MS optical set.
Any help will be appreciated.

The only thing that comes to mind is your firewall. You might want to check
the firewall settings and/or logs to see if it is blocking access. NOTE: if
you are using an always on broadband connection, do not turn off your
firewall to test unless you disconnect your system from your broadband
modem.
