MS backup resets PC

I recently found out how to add the MS back up program from XP home edition.
After following the directions to install it, I tried to activate the
application and my PC immediately reset. I have researched the fact that as
an OEM XP software, I might not have the proper files on my CDROM. Does
anyone know to fix this and/or get the proper files?
 
Forget about MS BAckup: go and get hold of Ghost 9 and make a full 'IMAGE'
file of the entire hard drive.

This is much more useful for the purposes of 'backing up' the entire system
disk, such that it may be reimaged back in the event of a disaster.
