MS Antispyware

I've been running MS antispyware (Beta 1) on my PC for sometime. I recently
got an update for Beta 2 and I downloaded it. Beta 1 still shows as an icon
on my toolbar. Windows defender (Beta 2) was downloaded into my programs. I
expected when I downloaded Beta 2, it would replace Beta 1. Do I need both?

You need neither . BETA ;-)

Try to remove Beta 1 from Add/Remove programs in Control Panel .
If you cannot , post your question to the specific newsgroup for Microsoft
antispyware beta products

Yes . Microsoft Windows Defender is ~buggy~ *beta* product.
BETA means the software is not finished and it is in bug-checking state
however Defender does have bugs in it
Bugs Exist Try Another
