MS AntiSpyware is JUNK

Mike

What the hell is this crap? Is this the best the billion dollar company
Microsoft can come up with?? This program doesn't find anything. The only
thing it finds is tracking cookies. Instead of wasting money and resources
on antispyware software that doesnt work Microsoft should be trying to make
Windows more secure so it doesnt get spyware in the first place

LOL ......On my.....I don't dare comment on that.

Mike, I think you got Microsoft AntiSpyware confused with another product,
because it does do cookie scanning in the first place. Its also a beta 1
release of a product that is far from final. I believe the MSAS Team is
working deligently and taking the feedback from "us" to help make the major
milestone release a sucsess. Its up to people like you help make it better
by helping discuss what you feel is not working properly in the product what
you think should be improved. Simply calling it junk is not gonna help make
it better.

Well, the only thing it doesn´t find is cookies ;)

But perhaps you are right, everything ends up in Vista and a security
chip (Big Brother in cubic) ............... so maybe it is "shit" ?

Oh, yes, we all must stop using MSAS because of your uneducated analysis
of a product that obviously you have never used. So MSAS manages
cookies now, huh? Go read
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/faq.mspx and
the question regarding LACK of support for cookies.

Windows is secure as long as idiots like you aren't allowed to connect
to the Internet, to any other host, and someone else installs the
software for you.

Hi Mike,

nice to here that your MSAS found tracking cookies, because the only two
things MSAS NOT find is tracking coocies and data miners!!!!!!!

I wouldnt call it a complete Junk but almost a junk!!
In my case it could detect spywares but unable to delete or
quaratine it completely. MS Antispyware has a long road to go!!

I'm very impressed that your copy of Microsoft Antispyware was able to find
tracking cookies. I've yet to see this detection, myself.

You might also want to drop a note to the various industry reviewers who
have carefully done comparative testing of various antispyware apps and
found Microsoft Antispyware ranks very well--just to let them know where
their test protocols have failed.

I'm sorry to say I gave in to temptation. Probably not what you would have
said, but....

this junk is uninstalled and forgotten. Spybot and Ad-Aware work great for
me. As usual when it comes to security issues, Microsoft fails miserably.
Thank God for third party software.

Mike,]

I thought Ad-Aware and Spybot were doing a good job untill
I tried another detector (Counterspy as it happens - but
that's not a recommendation). I guess ignorance is bliss.

I still think Ad-Adware is worth using along with something
else. But I'm scepital about Spybot now.

MSA is getting promising reviews. Hopefully the Beta 2 will
be even better. And I hope a lot faster.

I can see that you are an open-minded sort of person, ready to acknowledge
when you've made a mistake. No quarrel with the two apps you cite
here--they won't steer you wrong, but they also don't provide the level of
real-time protection Microsoft Antispyware, even in the current beta1 stage,
provides.

Mike all you're doing is showing how really ignorant you are. MS products
are not my favorite either but when I'm testing something, I at least know
what it's does and what the potential for that product is. First, this is a
beta 1 application, which means it's still in the testing and debugging
stage....... Do you know what a beta is? Second, at the moment, it does not
detect or remove cookies. You *obviously* don't know what a cookie is.
Third, do you think you really acomplished anything or helped the developers
in any way by spouting your ignorance? Fourth, never, never install a beta
product on a computer unless you really know your operating system, you are
capable of trouble shooting problems and you have adequate backups.

Perhaps you should ask your Mother to help you out, Mike.

Have a nice day. :)

I don't know why it should always be Mom's job to do this kind of
chore--probably Dad needs to help out too!

HAHAHA Fails I don't think so.

A friend of mine bout a mac about a month ago(she is on cable) and was
compromised within 2 days.
I have had my XPSP2 machine on broadband for a year now (now firewall except
xp's) and I have not be compromised.
