MS Access Linked Table Question

A

AshVsAOD

Hi all,

I have created a database that contains nothing but linked tables. These
linked tables use an ODBC connection to display information in a 3rd party
accounting product.

Using MS Access I can then query those linked tables no problem. I can also
use Excel to import the data directly.

However, if I use SQL and attempt to import data using DTS I cannot browse
any of the tables. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I would have to guess/assume that you need to setup the odbc connection in
DTS.

When you use some product that imports ms-access data, is not surprising at
all that linked tables to OTHER types of databases suggests that you would
go to the actual data source, and not to ms-access.

In addition, if in fact the odbc to that "other" application works with
ms-access, then of course, you simply import the data into ms-access, AND
THEN use DTS.
