I have Vista, I'm trying to add some fonts. I get an access denied message.
Yes, I am setup as administrator.

How are you installing the Fonts? Are you using the Install Fonts dialog?

Use the install font dialog located Control Panel > Fonts > Install Fonts
(command bar)

I don't see a program (whatever it is) to install fonts in the control panel.
Their is a folder that just opens up to Windows Font folder, which is not
where I want to install them.

Ok, press Alt on your keyboard > click File > Install Fonts, its best you
install it in Fonts folder to keep thinks organized and accessible to the
applications you might want to use it in.

I'm sorry,
Not following you.
Press Alt
click file?

The fonts I want to install are for AutoCAD, into the program files, autocad
2008, fonts folder.

I do not understand how clicking Alt lets me do anything?
(I did try it, nothing happens)

When you are in Font explorer, click the Alt key on your keyboard > this
will temporarily present the Drop menus, click File > Install New Font

Install Fonts is on the File menu of the fonts applet in the Control Panel.
Use that.
Mike.

It does nothing when I do that
I really need to get these fonts into my AutoCAD fonts folder, any other way?

Again,
All that folder does is open to the windows font folder.

My word, it shouldn't be this hard. I just want to install some AutoCAD
fonts into the AutoCAD fonts folder. I've done it all the time in ME, Win
2000 pro, Win 2000 server, win 2003 server, XP Home and XP Pro, why can't I
do it in Vista?

Figured it out.
I was trying to copy from an email and paste into the fonts folder
(AutoCAD). Once I saved them to my desktop, it then let me copy and paste
from there. Frustrating, very frustrating!

He's not trying to install Windows fonts.. he's trying to copy (probably
custom) AutoCad fonts into the program folder with the standard fonts.

I presume he's running into permission problems, or AutoCad is installed in
some other folder.

Dave, can you see other fonts in this folder?

You really don't want your email program to be able to save to a system
folder, it's a massive security risk.
