MS Access 2000 on an XP SP2 computer not working

I have a problem with loading Access 2000 on a XP SP2 computer. The program
will load but returns errors when attempting to open any database. Thie
machine has Office 2003 Small Business edition already loaded which does not
include Access. Could there be a conflict when loading the older version of
Access after the newer version of Office?

It should work, with a few things taken into consideration.

1) Don't install Access in the default folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\*), this is where the newer version of Office is installed. Instead,
install Access to another folder such as C:\Program Files\Access2000.

2) Install all service packs and patches for Office 2000. This can be done
by going to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx and
clicking on Check For Updates. If you need any updates for the Office 2003
install, it will catch those at the same time.

3) You may have a problem with some of the help files not installing. This
can be fixed by following this article's instructions.
