mpeg problem

mike

hi

1. moviemaker wont accept mpegs which i recorder off tv. it sends an
error message indicating a codec is needed for these files, but doesnt
specify which one. does anyone know which codec i need?

2. When loading avi files from my camera, i occasionally get a black
frame saying 'b frame decoder'. this appears sometimes in beginning of
a clip, other times in the middle. is there a way to avoid this?

thanks

mike

Movie maker often does not work at all with mpegs, use one of the free
converters to change it to a wmv and try again.

Is this a digital stills camera or camcorder? If camcorder how is it
connected? If a stills I suspect that it uses some form of compressed avi
such as mjpeg or divx, which don't work well with MM, so same as above
convert to wmv and then use.

When you have a question Please
begin a new thread.

I suspect the problem could be
corrected by converting the MPEGs
to a more compatible format. Quick
fix would be to use the 'Rotate 180'
Video Effect.
