mpeg import

i captured a vhs tape to mpeg on a machine. I wasn't able to import the mpeg
into Movie maker though. I did a little research and found someone who had
had the same problem. I downloaded and installed the codec that was
suggested, and it worked. The mpeg will import, and go to the storyboard,
but as soon as i try to play it, let alone edit it, i get and error report
message. can anyone help?

It's best to convert MPEG-2 files to AVI, compressed with a codec that works
well in Movie Maker... and use the AVI file as the source for your project.
