hello,

i just ordered a digital camera/video camera. the video is saved in mpeg-4
format.
am i correct in thinking that i can burn this to dvd, but not cd's?

as this is all new to me, i think i would like to me able to put several
video clips together on one dvd, which i figure means i need video editing
software, which i know nothing about <smile>. i would greatly appreciate it
if someone could recommend video editing software that a 10 year old could
use.

thank you.

No you are not correct. DVD does not support directly Mpeg3, neither does
CD. You can only store the data. Some newer players (somewhat rare) will
play the Mpeg4 data of off a disc.

luminos,

oops!
i guess the software that i find needs to convert the output of the
digital/video camera.

thank you.
