mp4 in movie maker 5.1

I can import .mp4 video files and play them in Media Player 10.
How can I edit these files in Movie Maker 5.1?
I have installed WM9Codecs.exe.

First there is no Movie Maker 5.1 that is actually the Windows version. The
current Movie Maker version is 2.1
Second Movie Maker is not compatible with MP4 files, they need to be
converted to AVI before importing into Movie Maker. See this website:
