Mp4 audio format?

Hello,

I just installed Nero 6 and noticed that it can rip audio tracks from cd as
mp4 files. What advantages does this format have over mp3? Anyone suggest
any mp4 players?

Thanks,

Jeff

MP4 would be a smaller, and more compressed than Mp3. It "should" sound
just as good as MP3's or WMA but i would not recommend changing your music
collection over or ripping tracks in it yet. b/c very few portable player
support it. Most software players should play them just fine.

I haven't noticed any big improvement in terms of file size or anything.
Realplayer is happy to steal file associations right up to mp8, so I assume
it plays them.

MP4 files use AAC file compression. They are compatible with all iPods.

The only players I know that support AAC (mp4) files are iPods.
