MP3's to WMA

C

Christopher

I used PLUS! for Windows XP to convert a bunch of MP3's
over to WMA then burned them to disk using XP's built in
software. All of the songs that I downloaded off the web
play fine, it's the songs that I took off of my own CD's
that don't play. Why is this???? If I create a CD with
these same tracks but in MP3 format, they play just
fine. Oh and by the way, I am playing them in my Pioneer
car stereo if that helps. Any help?

A couple of things :

1) You need to "Rip" your CD's and store them on your HD in wav format (no
point in compressing
them into mp3 format, you'll loose quality). AudioGrabber or CDex will do
the job nicely (do a Google
search for their respective websites). Do not burn a multi-session CD and
make sure you have 70 minutes
of music and do it all in one go. Why use WMP when there is Nero out there ?
Why go from mp3 to
WMA to CDA ? Nero will burn your CD's from mp3's directly.

2) Do you mean you are trying to play them in your Pioneer in car player or
that it can play your CD's ?
If the former then it may not be compatible with CD-R's.

3) If your really want to put more songs on a CD for storage reason, the
above two softwares will
transform the wav files into mp3's, both direct from your CD's. (Watch out
for errors). When burning
your data CD, make sure you finalise the CD so that (in theory) any CD
player capable of reading mp3's
can read it.

Cheers,
Jerry
