Moving XP @ Home from two hard drives to one hard drive

My computer boots on the C drive and Windows in on the D drive. These are two
seperate hard drives. I want to move them to one hard drive with two
partitions. I have copied the C drive on the first partition of the new drive
and it is a primary partition. I have also copy the Drive D on to the second
partition of the new drive and it is a logical drive. Besides editing the
boot.ini to change from two drives to one what else do I need to do? When
booting from one drive now it seem to work up to a point, except after the
start windows screen comes up, it goes to a solid blue screen. The mouse is
showing and working, but nothing to click on.

Since you modified the physical har drive that Windows was on (which Windows
uses in creating Security Identifiers from the hard drive identifiers), you
need to do a Windows XP Repair.

Then reinstall any servicepacks, patches, updates for Windows since the time
the Windows XP was created.
So, if you XP disk is Windows XP SP1, you will need to update to SP2 and all
patches and updates since SP1.
